This week in our classroom...
- Sight Words: good, did, have, or, read, too, any, and the bonus word is Tuesday.
- Shared Reading: We are reading bat books this week. Ask your student to share the setting and characters of the stories with you.
- Writer's Workshop: We are continuing to work on informational writing. This week, we will have the Authors chair for our Apple stories and we are beginning our informational writing about BAts.
- Math Workshop: We are counting 1-20 in a straight line.
- Social Studies/Science/Health: We are learning about Day and Night and the things that we do during these times of day. example We sleep at night and we go to the park in the day.
- Daily 5 Centers: We have started our Daily 5 rotations! The students are doing a great job working on their stamina through our three rotations! Ask your student which stations they completed today! :)
Important Announcements
- Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast: Our feast will be on November 17th from 11:35-12:20. Please join us if you can at tables 1 and 2!
- Book It!: Don't forget to read 20 minutes every night! You may keep your calendar at home or in your folder. Calendars will be due November 30th for free pizza coupons!
- Jump Rope for Heart: JRFH is this Thursday! We will be jumping from 9:05-9:50.
- Book Drive: Please bring in your gently used children's books for our book drive! The drop off box is at the front of the school, near the library doors.
- Thanksgiving Food Drive: We are being challenged as a class to create 5 full meals for students in our school this holiday season. Please consider donating to help a student in need. You can sign up for items here (please note that lots of these items are BOGO's at Publix this week!) We are now collecting all items!
